Job Description

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Shift Production Manager, the Packhouse Floor Manager will organise & manage the activities of the Packing team to achieve the highest pack rates and minimum wastage whilst working closely to all Company Safety, Quality, HR and other policies and procedures.

 

Main Duties

  • Organise & motivate the packing team to improve line speeds/pack rates by maximising productivity & minimising non – productive time
  • Minimise the number of product changeovers by implementing good line planning practices.
  • Reduce product changeover times by;
    • Planning and sourcing the next set of labels for Line Leaders
    • Ensuring next roll of film is available and assist with its fitting
  • Ensure product is packed to match load times with any possible issues notified to Shift Production Manager as soon as possible
  • Ensure the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy are achieved and to promote the achievement of high standards of health & safety standards through the adoption of good work practices & proper investigation of accidents
  • Recognise any training requirements of the team that may improve productivity and communicate such to Shift Production Manager or Packhouse Manager.
  • Ensure that matters that involve a breach of Company rules/standards are investigated and outcomes communicated to Shift Production Manager for disciplinary action, where necessary
  • Organise & motivate staff to ensure that the maximum use is made of all raw materials to reduce product waste to minimum levels possible.
  • Issue packing and sliced packing updates against the agreed packing plan every 2 hours from shift start to the Production, Planning and Transport teams
  • Assist and support the Shift Production Manager and Packhouse Managers where required
  • Communicate effectively with staff to ensure they are fully briefed on relevant issues
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Other duties as assigned by the Shift Production Manager or Packhouse Manager

Experience and Qualifications

  • Ideally Third level education in a food related discipline
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in FMCG / food based environments at management level

Job Description

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Stock Control Manager responsible for picking, selecting correct orders, loading containers and clerical duties associated with despatch of products.

 

Main Duties

  • Responsible for intake of packing – equipment
  • Select correct stock for assembling orders and transfer stock to despatch bay
  • Check that correct number of crates/packaging on each pallets have been scanned and correct destination recorded
  • Process relevant documentation for each consignment
  • Use of the company online systems
  • Load containers and ensure all pallets have been scanned and checked prior to loading, enclosing documentation
  • Report any discrepancies with orders
  • Work effectively as part of the Team
  • Identify new methods and processes to reduce “down time”
  • Ensure all loads are loaded in accordance with the “load plan”
  • Ensure all orders are correctly filled, assembled and despatched
  • Maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company Rules and regulations

Job Description

Role Deliverables:

 

  1. To carry out preventative maintenance programmes on all equipment ensuring they are kept to high standard and always ready for use, including wrapping machines, labellers, refrigeration plant, robotics etc.
  2. To work closely with the Pack house management to ensure all maintenance work is prioritised correctly and carried out in a timely manner
  3. Assist in the sourcing of parts, following up on parts deliveries and overseeing that incoming parts are fitted as soon as possible when delivered
  4. Establish and maintain an efficient stock of essential parts, using good stock control techniques
  5. Maintain accurate, up-to-date maintenance documentation, following good documentation practices and keeping management updated on maintenance progress on all sites
  6. To ensure any breakdowns or problems are resolved quickly and efficiently as possible, using the resources available
  7. Being part of a callout service at weekends if required and forming part of a rotating shift pattern
  8. To assist with any 3rd party contractors in carrying out their duties on our sites as and when required
  9. To oversee that repairs to equipment carried out by 3rd parties off-site, are fully traceable and repairs are sent out and returned as quickly and efficiently as possible
  10. Maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations

Experience and Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Electrical Installation (preferable industrial)
  • Several years’ industry experience in a similar role
  • Ability to weld (preferably stainless steel and aluminium) and carry out small amounts of steel fabrication
  • Full driving licence

 

Desirables:

  • Previous experience in the mushroom industry and knowledge of the specialised machinery that are in use within a modern Packhouse
  • Previous experience in the food industry

Job Description

Role Overview

The Horticulture Programme Manager is a key role in the management of a number of research projects within MBio. Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer, the Horticulture Programme Manager will be essential in driving forward the development of microbial solutions for the horticulture applications within the mushroom industry.

 

Main Duties

The Horticulture Programme Manager will be responsible for the successful management and execution of all Microbiology innovation programs within MBio for the Monaghan Mushrooms Group including the management of project rollout into the full commercial environment. The programme manager must be highly customer centric and must lead by example.

 

MBio consistently delivers world firsts. The programme manager must be focussed on the end goal and see innovation as a toolset to achieve macro objectives. This may require entrepreneurial flair at times to achieve the unimaginable and the candidate must be a very strong communicator.

As nature never stops flexibility will be an important feature of this role.

 

The deliverables of the Horticulture Programme Manager role include:

 

  • Coordinate and evaluate the performance of all microbiology and horticulture projects within MBio and ensure alignment with end goals agreed with the customer – Monaghan Mushrooms;
  • Formulate new projects to support the achievement of new innovation targets agreed with the customer;
  • Drive an innovation mindset through the team;
  • Development of a consistent project management method for application to all programs;
  • Develop proposals for funding from national and international state agencies to ensure funding is in place for 100% of micro programs;
  • The development and management of budgets;
  • Management and development of a diverse team of scientists and horticulturalists;
  • Risk assessment and change management to ensure programme delivery;
  • Effective communications with all programme stakeholders;
  • Development of new products and processes for the horticulture industry.

 

 

Skills and Competencies

Experience and Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  • Possess a Ph.D qualification in Environmental Microbiology or Microbial Ecology.
  • Project Management qualification would be preferable.

 

Experience

  • 7+ years of industrial experience.
  • Proven experience in programme management.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management.
  • Proven record of good understanding/experience of horticulture.
  • Possess excellent computer skills including databases, excel, word and statistical packages.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), excellent interpersonal and presentation skills as well as being team focused.
  • Proven record of attention to detail and work with a sense of urgency yet have the ability to be impartial and objective.
