Job Description

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Packhouse Manager, the Shift Production Manager will plan, organise and control the activities within the Packhouse to ensure the highest levels of Customer Service are achieved whilst operating at the lowest unit cost within budgetary constraints and observing all Company Safety, Quality, HR and other policies and procedures.

 

Main Duties

  • Ensure all Quality Management Systems and procedures are implemented and maintained in order to guarantee that product safety, legality and all products are produced to the required specification
  • Ensure the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy are achieved through the adoption of correct work practices & thorough and immediate incident / accident investigations
  • Ensure that matters involving a breach of Company rules/standards are actioned or referred to the Packhouse Manager where they fall outside the remit of the Shift Production Manager
  • Ensure that all work activities under the control of the Shift Production Manager are commensurate with the Company’s requirement to achieve high Customer Service levels and report to the Packhouse Manager anything that may affect the Company’s ability to fully meet Customers’ requirements
  • Organise & motivate the packing team to achieve the lowest unit cost of production by maximising productivity & minimising non – productive time while operating within all Company policies & procedures
  • Ensure staff probationary reviews, rostering of staff, performance management, return to work interviews, absence reviews, and disciplinaries, are conducted as required within the timelines required
  • Organise & motivate staff to ensure that the maximum use is made of all raw materials to reduce wastage to the lowest practicable levels
  • Ensure that progress against the day’s agreed packing plan is monitored throughout the shift and where deviations are found, act to correct them immediately and communicate such deviations and any revised plan to the Packhouse Manager
  • Deal with staff grievances in a fair, reasonable and equitable manner
  • To ensure the continued development of the team identify areas for improvement for individual members of the team, set clear goals & targets and carry out regular appraisals of progress including weekly line leader reviews
  • Identify staff training/development actions that are deemed necessary to improve work performance and implement these actions
  • Communicate effectively with all staff at all levels to ensure they are fully briefed on all relevant issues routinely
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Other duties as assigned by the Packhouse Manager

Job Description

Role Deliverables:

 

  1. To carry out preventative maintenance programmes on all equipment ensuring they are kept to high standard and always ready for use, including wrapping machines, labellers, refrigeration plant, robotics etc.
  2. To work closely with the Pack house management to ensure all maintenance work is prioritised correctly and carried out in a timely manner
  3. Assist in the sourcing of parts, following up on parts deliveries and overseeing that incoming parts are fitted as soon as possible when delivered
  4. Establish and maintain an efficient stock of essential parts, using good stock control techniques
  5. Maintain accurate, up-to-date maintenance documentation, following good documentation practices and keeping management updated on maintenance progress on all sites
  6. To ensure any breakdowns or problems are resolved quickly and efficiently as possible, using the resources available
  7. Being part of a callout service at weekends if required and forming part of a rotating shift pattern
  8. To assist with any 3rd party contractors in carrying out their duties on our sites as and when required
  9. To oversee that repairs to equipment carried out by 3rd parties off-site, are fully traceable and repairs are sent out and returned as quickly and efficiently as possible
  10. Maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations

  • A sound mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills

Experience and Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Electrical Installation (preferable industrial)
  • Several years’ industry experience in a similar role
  • Ability to weld (preferably stainless steel and aluminium) and carry out small amounts of steel fabrication
  • Full driving licence

 

Desirables:

  • Previous experience in the mushroom industry and knowledge of the specialised machinery that are in use within a modern Packhouse
  • Previous experience in the food industry

Job Description

Role Overview

This is a key management role within the site with responsibility for driving the quality and hygiene ethos, whilst ensuring both company and regulatory compliance throughout the site.

 

Main Duties

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining site compliance with the Quality Management plan, company quality management systems and internal/external audits
  • Ensuring that all quality controls, in respect of raw materials, process flow, finished products, materials, packaging, hygiene and environmental matters are strictly adhered to, within the Packhouse
  • Conduct investigations of process/failures and customer complaints to identify effective corrective/preventative action and root cause analysis
  • Responsible for promoting and implementing quality standards and driving continuous improvement within the quality function
  • Responsible for training and managing the Quality Control personnel within the Packhouse (where relevant)
  • Implement and monitor hygiene practices throughout the site and hold routine meetings with hygiene staff to continually improve performance
  • Preparing for and conducting customer visits/audits and third party audits within the Packhouse
  • Managing the weekly microbiological swabbing schedule and trending/analysing this information
  • Leading the improvement of product quality at intake, product age, storage, packing and distribution functions by continual physical checks and implementing robust corrective actions

Job Description

Role Deliverables: The Analytical Services manager will be responsible for the following:

 

Commercial Activities:

  • Develop an overarching business plan for the provision of analytical services to both internal and external customers that includes:
    • Commercial strategy for MBio Analytical Services to drive growth and revenue potential including recommendations on market pricing for analytical services;
    • Technical strategy to support achievement of the commercial strategy including clearly establish the cost of service delivery and the profit of same.
  • Promote the services provided by MBio Analytical Services to the market to support achievement of the business plan.

Be the primary contact for customer engagement and be the technical expert on  a wide range of analytical services (food chemistry, microbiology and soil science.

Management

  • Manage, Lead and develop the Analytical Services team to achieve the performance objectives set for the business unit.
  • Develop a strong customer focussed execution model and culture which keeps customer commitments through on time delivery of service, accurate reporting and clear lines of communication and inquiry management.
  • Full budget and P&L responsibility for the Analytical Services Unit.

Technical

  • Manage technical operation of all analytical laboratories and all service relationships with external service providers.
  • In line with a technical plan manage procurement, qualification, maintenance and operation of all analytical equipment.
  • In depth knowledge of regulations, best in class analytical techniques, legislation.
  • Lead method development, qualification and validation activities including protocol establishment, protocol execution and report preparation.
  • Drive the development of quality focussed culture within the analytical team.
  • Ensure integrity of data and reports

Competencies to perform the role:

  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the UK and Ireland analytical services market.
  • In depth knowledge of analytical testing market and current analytical techniques.
