Our Group Headquarters is situated in Tyholland, Co. Monaghan. Nestled in the rural Irish countryside, we are just 1.5 hours from the main cities of  Belfast and Dublin. We have farms, pack houses, compost yards and offices across Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Canada.

Harvesting

Job Description

Main Duties

  • To successfully co-ordinate and roster a maintenance team of 3-4 maintenance people
  • To prioritise and allocate everyday work in an efficient manner, using the resources available
  • To implement, drive and improve on existing preventative maintenance programmes
  • To effectively manage uptime/downtime of machinery
  • To continue with a hands on approach to everyday maintenance tasks
  • To react immediately to any breakdowns or problems and try to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible, using the resources available
  • General sourcing of everyday parts, services and 3rd party repairs. Reporting to the site manager with any parts ordering requirements. Following up on parts deliveries and overseeing that incoming parts are fitted as soon as possible when delivered
  • Completion of all maintenance records
  • Maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations
  • Co-ordinate and oversee that preventive maintenance programmes are being carried out by the Packhouse maintenance team
  • Stock checks, systems maintenance etc.
  • To lead continuous improvements projects
  • Liaising with and assisting any 3rd party contractors in carrying out their duties on our sites
  • Assisting with engineering budgeting and cost analysis

Competencies to perform the role

This role requires the individual to have:

  • A sound, hands-on, mechanical and electrical knowledge of equipment
  • Previous experience of supervising and leading maintenance teams
  • Previous experience of using and managing preventive maintenance system(s)
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft packages

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-3 years in a Maintenance Management role within a similar industry

Job Description

 

Main Duties

 

  • Partner to the operational managers on all aspects of their business.
  • As a member of the HR team, participate in the development of an integrated HR strategy that facilitates the development of the business. Responsible for coordinating the central HR plan.
  • Manage key projects as determined in the HR plan to support the business (e.g. develop and roll out of the Employee Wellbeing Strategy, coordinate Employee Retention programmes, develop the Diversity & inclusion Strategy and Policy Development as required)
  • Support and advise managers on Employee Relations (i.e. re-organisations, disciplinaries, grievances, dealing with unions, tribunal/claims). Represent the company as required. Ensure the provision of up-to-date employment law advice and HR best practice.
  • Partner with the HR Shared Service Centre to support business units, such as:
    • Ensure a smooth experience and quick resolution of queries
    • Ensuring the correct processes are in place to support business needs
  • Employee Development – Support managers with the development of their teams (individual and team level) ensuring the right skills and competencies are in place. Support managers with performance management within the business. Involvement with internal training programmes as appropriate.
  • Employee Engagement – Understand employee satisfaction levels and dynamics within the business and drive employee engagement projects and initiatives (i.e. optimising works councils, reviewing attrition and implementing retention strategies – site and company level).

Experience and Qualifications

 

With the ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, the role holder will be well versed in working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, global organisation and passionate about building strong trust-based relationships with managers and colleagues.

In addition:

  • Significant experience in a generalist HR role at HRBP level, preferably with experience of working with geographically dispersed business units.
  • Experience of working in partnership with the business to provide effective and innovative HR solutions.
  • Skilled at using effective listening, probing and investigatory skills to handle complex, sensitive escalated inquiries and conversations with discretion, composure and compassion
  • Strong customer service orientation, proactive and solution focused with an ability to deal effectively with difficult interactions and tough issues
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of employment legislation, its interpretation and implementation and of employment practices specific to Country compliance, broad experience across all HR disciplines
  • Degree qualified, preferably in HR or a business related field.

 

Other significant role requirements

 

  • Full clean driving licence and valid passport
  • CIPD qualified is advantageous
  • Role based in Tyholland, travel weekly to company locations in Ireland and the UK and must have ability to travel to other company locations as required (post current Covid-19 restrictions)
  • Knowledge of Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Polish or Russian language would be advantageous
