With the launch of our Research & Development department in 2007, we have been dedicated to the improvement and identification of exciting new process, services, concepts and products.
Our research programmes
Our goal is to build an international research network that will help us understand mushrooms better. By collaborating with universities and research institutes, we hope to grow the global market which in turn will help us, and our customers.
From farm to fork, our research programmes cover every aspect of the food supply chain and beyond.
Compost, Casing and Microbiology Research Programme
Through this programme, we aim to understand and manage the raw materials used for producing quality mushroom compost and casing. We want to underpin the main key factors that are relevant to the composting and growing processes, and the potential of spent mushroom compost for other applications.

Food Science and Technology Research Programme
This research programme is helping us better understand and manage the factors affecting the production of different type of mushrooms.
We are monitoring mushroom quality and introducing new packaging systems that are more sustainable and increase product shelf life.
We’re also working on improving the nutritional and sensory quality of mushrooms, making them healthier and tastier for consumers.
