Monaghan Mushrooms shortlisted in the Sustainability category in Bord Bia Food & Drink Awards 2017

Monaghan Mushrooms are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in the Sustainability category in the Bord Bia Food & Drink Awards 2017. The awards are designed to showcase and celebrate excellence in our industry.

Donna McKenna, Environmental Manager, Monaghan Mushrooms said: “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted in the Sustainability, Project Impact category, which recognises project impact in corporate sustainability. Our ambition to increase the health and nutritional value of mushrooms inspired the research project leading to the development of our new Vitamin D enriched Monaghan Mushrooms product”.

“It is an honour to be recognised for the work we are doing in the area of sustainability and we hope it encourages others in the industry to do the same” added Leanne Wilson, also within the Environmental Department at Monaghan Mushrooms.

Environmental sustainability is essential and it is expected.  Monaghan Mushrooms continuously strive to incorporate sustainability into all avenues of the business and many initiatives have been undertaken in recent years to not only limit our impact on the environment, but to enhance its stability for the future.

The Bord Bia Food & Drink Awards, hosted by Miriam O’Callaghan, take place on Wednesday 29th November 2017 in the RDS Concert Hall, Dublin.
